Giving Back
The mission of The Tracy McGrady Foundation is to positively shape the lives of youth by offering programs that emphasize learning and self-awareness and that encourage physical development.
NBA players are taking advantage of their time off by giving back to their communities and to communities around the world. More than 35 players are participating in the sixth year of the Basketball without Borders program, which visits Lithuania and Puerto Rico for the first time in 2006.
Several players will also be holding charity basketball games across North America. On June 24, LeBron James recruited fellow NBA players Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade and Amare Stoudemire, among others, for the second annual LeBron's King for Kids Bikeathon, a weekend event that included a Celebrity Billiards Challenge and an eight-mile ride through LeBron's hometown of Akron.
